propaganda
wow.....i thought had accidentally gotten a pop-up ad from fox news when i saw this story:
CNN.com - Lawmakers share parents' fears - Mar 14, 2005
maybe they should stop praying and learn the facts, if they expect their kids to live. troops out now!
apparently the peace and justice gift shop in ithaca has just started selling those ubiquitous magnetic yellow ribbons, but these say "support our troops- bring them home"
i definitely have more to write about from this weekend, but i also have a take-home prelim due tomorrow and esl tonight. general recap is that my 2 roommates' parents and my parents all visited this weekend, so it was pretty busy, though minimally chaotic-
fri night- went to yummy dance party at rachel's for a little while where i preceded to get a splinter in my foot (went THRU the sock) while trying to skank (remember that? popularity circa 1999, very popular on the south shore of long island at places like "da funky fish") to some swing song.
got the splinter out myself!! on sat afternoon after a few attempts by various parents. proud accomplishment. can remove wood from own foot.
sat night was my chai notes concert, which was why some of the parents were up. chaotic, fast and slightly emotional, but overall hard to process that things are really winding down.
more to say later
